Not an uncommon problem. The manufacturers place the sensor internally thru the wall of the tank, stuff gets on the walls thus an inaccurate reading. Most of us just ignore this issue as it exist in the vast majority of RV units. The only one that works, sensors, is the sea level system that uses external sensors and can be installed with your present black tank maybe utilizing most of your present system. Use the search engine at the top tight you'll see pages of info on this subject. Also u tube offers video. I just live with it.
