Blackwater level reading

Anyone experience this? I have a 2014 grey hawk, 31DS. After I empty my black water the level reads empty. The minute I close the valve the indicator reads 2/3 full. This is without running any water at all. Open the valve it reads empty.

I'm out on a trip and haven't contacted the dealer yet. I bought it new in November and this is only my third time out.

Any ideas..???

I have a 2008 Greyhawk and have the very same issue. I bought my unit recently with 20k miles and very little use logged, so it seems the original owner never addressed this problem when he purchased the RV new.

Not an uncommon problem. The manufacturers place the sensor internally thru the wall of the tank, stuff gets on the walls thus an inaccurate reading. Most of us just ignore this issue as it exist in the vast majority of RV units. The only one that works, sensors, is the sea level system that uses external sensors and can be installed with your present black tank maybe utilizing most of your present system. Use the search engine at the top tight you'll see pages of info on this subject. Also u tube offers video. I just live with it.

Good info. Mine is only 5 months old so when I get back off my current trip I am going to take it in for some warranty service. That will be on the list. "Stay tuned"
