Blinds on coach door - HOT!

Literally just pulled back into town from a 5700 mile round trip from Florida to Yellowstone! Great trip, lots of pics and the MH did great. We have a 2016 Jayco Greyhawk 31FS.

Lots of things to share and plenty of pics.

Quick question though....we noticed when we first bought the motorhome there weren't any blinds on the coach door. From outside you can see in at night (privacy). We hang a towel up.

But after this trip we realized that a blind or towel would also greatly cut down on the heat that enters the motorhome from just the sun shining. The RV thermostat is right there at the door and that thing will peak out at 99 degrees ambient temperature.

From looking at some pictures it looks like the 2017 have a blind, but not the 2016? Anyone make one or do anything about it? I could put one on the door, but if the door is closed you wouldn't be able to access the control panel from the inside. (Not much clearance).

Thought about writing the factory and asking.

Thanks for the replies and I'll post some pics of the trip.

If it were me, I'd probably cut a piece of reflectix (buy from lowes on a roll) to the exact shape of the window.

I would think use small velcro dots at the 4 corners and stick it up there. That stuff does an amazing job at blocking heat, and it rolls easily and goes into some nearby storage with a rubber band around it.

Just a thought, you might not like to do that

It's like foil bubble wrap , you can probably buy it in smaller rolls but I'm working on making some that fit my windows for storage and travel

Shop Reflectix 100-sq ft Reflective Roll Insulation (48-in W x 25-ft L) at Lowes.com
