Cabinet doors coming apart. 2015 Seneca.

After our second outing with the secena, we noticed a small crack in the corner of one of the doors. Didn't think to much of it at the time, but we did talk about it, sais we should keep a eye on it. Yesterday we took some things out to the rv, and noticed the door had come completely apart at the corner. We also noticed two other doors in the kitchen area are cracking in the corners. I built cabinets at a younger age, and these cabinets look well built for a rv. I was trying to figure just why these doors are doing this, maybe the wood was not dried the correct way. Then I thought about the gas struts. I think the struts are just too strong for the doors. I have the coach in for warranty work. I submitted this thread, so those of you who own new Senecas should keep a eye on your doors!

I just had several doors replaced on my Eagle. The same thing, they were coming apart at the joints. I told the dealer that I thought my doors were built on a Sunday while the Amish craftsmen were at church. He wasn't amused and said that Jayco outsources the doors. It didn't look like there had been any glue used just staples.

We have the same issue with three of our overhead cabinet doors in our 2015 Seneca. Noticed the first one during the PDI, now after two short trips we have two others coming apart at the corner. So far dealer is correcting them as we I'd them. I suspect we'll be replacing all of them.

You known, it's fine they are replacing them, but it costs me $200.00 ever time I have to take the Secena in for work. If it was not for that it wouldn't be so bad.

It will be quite some time before the news doors are in to replace the (new) ones that are falling apart. Took the coach home. If I wanted doors on my cabinets I would have to fix them. I glued the joints bar clamped them, and let the glue dry..I then put L brackets on the inside of each door on all corners. This should fix the problem until the news ones come in.

I tought Gulfstream products were badly assembled, Jayco is even worse as I can read on here !
Piss poor quality is the qualifying word of those Jayco products !

Lets not forget your house falls apart and it is mounted in concrete. The doors are actually pretty well built but a few thousands of a inch will cause them to not like humidity changes. As to the Gulfstream owner really you bought one of those turds and come here to complain about Jayco. The first big difference is Jayco will actually fix these doors yep it sucks to have to bring it in for service but many times they will ship the parts to you if you can do it yourself. The only way to fix a Gulfstream is lite a match.
