Hello all,

I have an 05 Envoy 38DS04 with a Cat C7 and rear radiator and plan replacing my coolant. The manuals I have don't indicate the total system capacity. Does anyone have an idea on how much coolant this rig holds?
Thx,

Lou

Lou, I don't remember exactly how much I put in when i did mine ( 2005 envoy) this summer but I used CAT extended pre mix. I think it was about 13 gal. I bought more than I needed, took some back to CAT and kept two gal for topping off if needed. So I would recommend buying 15 gal, and then you can take back what you didn't use. I replaced the thermostats at the same time which I also got from CAT. good luck Jim

Thanks Jim,

I picked up the ELC and thermostats/gasket when I was at the CAT dealer getting fuel/oil filters and they thought 8 gals would do it. It didn't sound right to me, but then again they do more work on industrial equipment than motorhomes. I was also thinking about getting one gal. of the concentrate and mixing it a little strong because I am concerned about not getting all the water out of the block and dash heater core when I flush the system. Looks like I'll be going back for a few more gallons. In any case, I'm all covered up now so it most likely will be a springtime job. Thanks again for the input.

Lou
