No, its threaded directly into the tank. I had a leak where the guage screws into the tank and I took my rig to out local gas company. Fortunately the tank was near empty. They had me run the generator until it used up the little propane left and then it was safe for them to unscrew the guage, clean it, put some thread dope on it and screw it back in tight. Leak fixed. I am sure they would have had a new guage if it needed one. You can buy guages online, but working on propane systems can be very dangerous. I would recommend finding your local propane company and let experts help you. They worked 2 hours on my tank and refilled it for a total bill of $80.
