Ghost in the wires.

Guys:

I have a ghost in the wiring from the old TS plant. Front door and bays elect to lock and unlock themselves several times, then rest for a few hours, then resume the exercise. Meanwhile the front door buttons beep out what sounds like an old telegraph message to Fort Apache.

I have never set up the buttons, and use only the wireless fobs.

Has anyone had this puppy behave like this before on an 06 Envoy 42DL14?

Thanks.

If you are not using the wireless system, then try disconnecting and see if the problem goes away. Should be fused in outside compartment under driver.
You probably have the Essex wireless system and the control module for it is in the armrest area next to the passenger seat. On it is is a reset button that can be used to reset the buttons and system. The buttons module next to the door have experienced problems, I replaced mine twice.
Problem could also be in the fob(s), like a dieing battery(s) or one could be defective.
Traveling for the next 3 months, I have the reset procedure at home, maybe someone else can forward them to you.
Most likely the problem is in the button module, could be moisture or just dead or dying. Does it respond when buttons are touched?
Should have come from factory with last 4 serial #'s as the default, may give that a try if the buttons respond.

Thanks for the info. Probably the button module as it has never lit up until the flashing, etc. I will look into a replacement. The fobs both have new batterys.
