GPS
My wife and I are eagerly waiting for our new Greyhawk 29MV to be delivered ( OK, me more than her!) and we came up with a question about the GPS that Jayco provides as park of the electronics package.
Is this GPS have the RV/truck software in it or is it just a standard car setup. I need to know if I have to add something else to my Santa list.

Why don't you simply ask your dealer or call Jayco @ (574-825-5861)??
Wondering

I was not in a position to do either (sitting on a Long Island Railroad train).
Thought someone on the forum might know off hand

The factory supplied GPS in a Melborne was out of date when I bought the unit new. Dealer couldn't update it, but I was able to find the site and the unit chip and updated it myself. That being said, the first trip after updating it directed me down a road to an old RR overpass that would not let me pass. Went out and purchased a more reliable and totally natural functioning Garmin 760 made for RV's and never used the original unit again.

Kinda what I was thinking. With the GPS as a separate unit it also lets me have the radio or rear view camera on screen at the same time as the GPS map.
Thanks for the reply!

Ditti !!
Also on my 2015 GH 29MV there is a major glare problem and seems to come from the entry door. Good thing I have my RV GPS from CW. Love it !

I put my GPS display on the big screen above and between the driver and passenger seat. It's nice to have a large view if the GPS screen. I have my two smaller screens for rear and side view as well. Music via be Bluetooth to my phone. I also car and use a paper map and a WiFi tablet just in case.

sfergie631,
Just curious, what dealer did you purchase the Greyhawk from?

I buy RV supplies from them all the time. The original owner bought my 2004 Greyhawk there. I looked at some Greyhawks there last Spring, but their inventory was sparse for Jayco motorhomes. Did you compare WES prices with internet dealers such as RVone? I wonder if WES' price was at least in the ballpark. I think you would get much better service at WES and it is much closer.

WES Trailer Sales
We went down to the Hershey show in September and went through all of the Jayco products as well as several other manufacturers. We settled on the Greyhawk and did a deal with the dealer at the show. WES trailer matched that offer!
So far things are working out fine. Much happier buying a unit from a local dealer than someone 4 hours away.

Sfergie631,
Glad to hear that you got a good deal from WES. We were thinking about upgrading to a new Grayhawk. After a trip to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan this summer, I realized that my MH runs well, is in good shape and is paid for. It drives very well on the road. I think you will enjoy the Greyhawk. We use ours for short and long trips from about April to November. Good luck and happy trails!!!!
