Hydraulic jacks

The '11 Jayco Melbourne 28F I just traded for does not have leveling jacks. I have had leveling jacks on the last two motor homes and would like them on this one. Does anyone know what brand, HWH or other, and what Model #of jack is put on as a factory option?

In the past month, I have done a great deal of research on hydraulic jacks for a Class C. I have tokd with the reps from HWH in Moscow, Iowa and the Big Foot factory in Michigan. The two systems are decidedly different. HWH has one pump for the four jacks with a spring return system. Big foot has a pump at each jack and a hydraulic return system Each has an advantage. I was told that the Big Foot is put on at the factory when there is just a chassis and nothing on top.

I decided on the HWH Automatic system for a couple of reasons. I have had HWH on the last two motor homes and had no trouble. HWH has been in business longer. The price for the HWH is just slightly higher than that for the Big Foot. The HWH factory is within 400 miles vs 600 miles to the Big Foot factory from SW Missouri.

I downloaded the installation instructions from HWH and decided it was not for me. I then got a price from a HWH factory install and other installers in my area. The factory charges the list price for the jacks and no charge for the install. In talking with some of the other installers they could not assure me of a final cost as they did not know how long it would take. It is probably doubtful that they have installed many systems on this motor home.

We have an appointment at the HWH factory in Moscow, IA, which is just off of I80 and to the west of Davenport, IA. This will not be their first install and they have graciously answered all of my questions and assured me of their quality.

I am a big foot fan. I liked the fact that you have a pump on each jack, so if one fails you still have three. Also these pumps are yacht bilge pumps and are rated for long service. The jacks themselves are less prone to seizeing, than the HWH. The number 1 reason I like them, is they are power up power down. They don't use springs to retract. If a jack gets slightly bent or binds, It will still come up under power. I had these installed on my last motorhome and had no problems with them.
