In Dash Air Conditioning not Cooling

I have a 2003 Travel Surpreme Select w/500 Cummins and Spartan Chassis. The in dash A/C is not cooling.

Recently had a technician put 6-7 cans of freon/w dye.... A/C still is not cooling...cannot find manual showing what type of unit came with coach. Need help locating expansion valves or any other possible source or solution to problem.

Thanks,
Buddy

I would be very surprised that your air conditioner even holds that much refrigerant normally. I don't know who the manufacturer of the dash unit is but it was probably Evans-tempcon. You might go to their website for reference information. Evans Tempcon, Inc
Air conditioners are pretty straightforward to work on but do require pretty sophisticated tools. I would take it to a shop that would never add “6 or 7 lbs. of refrigerant" until they understood what failed.
Btw, it could definitely be the expansion valve but at this point it could even be too much refrigerant in the system. You will need at the least, a set of gauges to determine the problem.

It is probably the temperature adjusting valve on the outer firewall. Crimp off the right side rubber hose with vicegrips and see if you get cool air. If not, crimp off the other hose.
