Ran across a 40' coach for sale on the internet. Ran across the attached picture in the ad. Can anyone tell me if the bracing in the shape of an X in this picture is the infamous X-brace modification? Also, is the plumbing on the right bulkhead for the Aqua-Hot heating system?
Thanks for your help!

That's the X-bracing. The plumbing on the right in the pic is the water manifold that directs hot and cold water to the entire coach, allowing you to disable any run that might have a problem.

Has anyone seen the additional X brace that is far side in the pic?

I was wondering the same thing. Don't understand why they'd employ a non-symmetrical truss in that manner. Wonder if that is a "jack-leg" type of job?

Well, we used to call it some kind of "rigging", but can't do that these days.
Jack-leg is an old "Country" term, referring to something NOT well thought out and maybe not too pretty, but still might work.

That is only one part of many. There is rails below the deck and the cross bracing between them. As well as another picture frame x brace up behind generator. There is also new frame connectors that are installed right in front of rear axles.
Thanks

Yep, A1 is right, that is only part of it, BUT if it has that part it likely has the full package,......and then some it appears. Bob, I surely do remember the old term and it was likely never a good choice but Jake Leg was the term we used around here to mean the same thing and I would say it likely applies to this case. LOL.

Gene, JAKE lives in OK.....Jack is in TX!!!!
I was visiting with Paul, the service mgr. up at Precision Paint the other day and their "revised" method of supplemental bracing adds a couple of 45 deg. pieces at the front, tied from the front of the lower longitudinal rails under the basement up to the main frame rails, approximately under the driver/copilot seat area. This would help support the cantilevered section of the main rails (foreward of the front axle) which would tend to keep these babies from moving differentially with twisting of the frame further to the rear. Such differential movement would, of course, cause stress and movement across the plane of the front windshields. Think about it..... Makes good sense.

Yes this is the xbracing for the main body of the coach but there is also should be xbracing under front windshield above the generator, you need both. Not sure if this is the plumbing, my aqua hot system box is right next to the plumbing and it is obvious where it goes. larry@larrydaly.com
