Slide out Mechanism

I have been having a large pop in my kitchen slide out on my 45' Select. It is a 2006. The front sliding unit seems to bind and then pops itself back into alignment. I do lube it on occassion. I think it is an alignment issue with the motor gear and the slide bar.
Has anyone had this issue and what was done to correct it?
Thanks

Is the seal at the top or side suddenly "letting go" causing this pop? My seals on a former motor home were the wrong kind and I finally cured it by lubing them down real well. This stopped the problem, although it wasn't the correct fix.

No seals on this unit. It is definitely metal on metal sound.

Do you have rollers under the slide. My newmar kountry Aire developed a popping sound and found that one of the metal rollers had a plastic cover around it that had slipped sideways and was hanging up

FWIW, our living room slide mechanism had a very loud pop in either direction. While we had our RV at the Dutchmen service center in Goshen I asked them to inspect the mechanism and the loud pop/bang sound. Their inspection discovered the rack gear teeth, and the meshing gear, on one slide arm was bad. They removed the bad rack and welded a new one onto the support arm, replaced the gear, and it operated like new. They said the cause of the damage was a mis-aligned/adjusted slide mechanism. That caused me to remember that my selling dealer had re-adjusted that slide mechanism because it was causing the floor to cut the carpeting.

I was afraid it might be a gear meshing problem. That is exactly the way it sounds. I guess I need to take a closer look and see if I can make any adjustments. Thanks
