Updating a 2010 Jayco Designer
Last year I removed the flip-down stairs which were getting difficult to navigate and replaced them with the MOR\ryde 4-step stairs, handrail and storage box. Six months later I don't know how we managed with the old, unstable step. The MOR\ryde entry steps is an excellent upgrade.
Also removed the aging carpet and replaced it with vinyl planking in the main salon. I am now looking to replace the inside steps and hall area but not the bedroom. The bedroom is too tricky, and the carpeted area is only a 2' wide 'U' shaped area surrounding the bed.
This week I'm driving to Hemlock RV in Southington, CT to add four shocks and MOR\Ryde SRE4000 suspension. I think this upgrade is worth the money and I'll update the post in a few months when I know more. This will be my first time at Hemlock. They were referred to me by Mor\ryde, and I'll update the Northeast group how this extensive, expensive upgrade went.
From what I've read on this web as well as the Jayco Owners web, in the past, Jayco built excellent RVs, and I know this 2010 unit has served us well. For the money, I haven't found one serious issue. The 2012 Ford King Ranch Super Duty with four camera's and a 6.7 diesel is also holding up pretty well although I am holding my breath for one of those minor diesel repairs that cost $4,000!
Next on my list is getting rid of the LP\AC refrigerator and replacing it with a better quality AC only unit, like LG if they fit.
