One thing I rarely if ever see mentioned in regards to this issue is making sure that ALL water lines that might not be used are bled of all air.

In our Eagle TT, the washer water lines in our unit are not used. As we connect/disconnect the water lines, this introduces air into the water lines in the RV and at least some of it makes it's way into these lines.

Once enough air collects in those lines, it causes enough fluctuation in overall water pressure that our Girard will start running hot/cold/hot, especially if the water pressure coming into the RV is borderline or lower than 40psi. Once I bleed those lines, the issue disappears.

2018 back to tanks

Just bought a 2018 26ds. Dealer told me jayco going back to tanked water heaters on greyhawks because of cost of dealing with complaints on tankless.

I heard the same when I bought my 2017 Greyhawk. I've had some issues with the tankless, but it appears to be pressure related. Using the 12V pump, the temperature regulation issue abated. I will be bringing a pressure gauge with me for future experimentation.

Another workaround I found was to lower the target temperature - it maintained ~108F reasonably well.

we have had all of the models of girard tankless water heaters. girard has got it right with their new model with the digital thermostat. just set it at 105 to 108 and use only the hot water side. a variable speed water pump helps a lot. the oxygenics shower head works with the rest of the system to give an even temp shower.
my wife is happy, im happy when she is.

Yes, this seems to be the key. It is working fine for us now. Thanks to everyone who gave us tips.

The Gerard tankless in our Greyhawk was so annoying that Jayco authorized a replacement under warranty with a suburban gas/electric 6-gallon tank model. Had have zero issues with the Suburban over past two years.
