Hi All.......I am looking at an '01 Imperial for a friend and have a question for any current owners. The coach is a repo and when it was finally brought in, the default owner had removed an electrical panel in the front curbside overhead cabinet just behind the copilot seat. It's basically the same setup as my Diplomat LE with the inverter controller, EMS panel, etc, but there is an opening roughly 3" x 4" at the top of the cabinet with nothing in the hole. Hanging inside the hole is a group of 6 or so wires of different colors that are probably 10 ga. wires.
They look like they were cut off clean on the ends. I have no idea what instrument would use this many wires of this heavy gauge. There is no EMS panel, but I know that those only take a 3 wire plug of small gauge wires. Do any HR owners from that era have an idea of what gauge is located at the top of the panel inside the front overhead compartment. The slide out controls are also in that cabinet along with the Trace inverter controls. Those are located at the bottom half of the cabinet. Everything seems to function normally in the coach so I am at a loss to figure out what's missing. Thanks for any input.

Tom,
I have an 01 windsor with the same setup as you described. My MH was prewired for solar panels and a controller in that cabinet. I installed it in the same area and it is about 3" x 4" also. It has 2 wires going to the chassis batteries and 2 go to the solar distribution box on the roof under the frig vent.
I got mine from AM Solar in Eugene, OR.

Rick

Sounds like someone took the expensive solar panel set up with them.

Thanks for the reply Rick, and I believe you are absolutely correct. I went back and took a look this morning and sure enuf there is evidence of a solar panel having been on the roof, and also two of the 10 ga. wires seem to end up in the battery management compartment and are tied into the battery boost solenoid. Looks like it was a quick sell prior to the repo man showing his face. I now have a new question.
Our Monaco has the Intellitec Energy Mgmt system and I absolutely love it. It keeps the dw from overloading things since I have gotten her familiar with the meaning of the Amp reading on the display and how it relates to all the systems she might be using. The Imperial I am looking at does not have the display in the front cabinet but does have the Intellitec breaker panel in the rear bedroom cabinet. Is it possible that the coach might be wired for the Energy Mgmt system even though it's not present, or is it just simply that Monaco (HR) simply uses that same panel in all the coaches? Anyone familiar with this?
