Have had motorhome for only a few weeks. First couple of times we drove it we had no issues. Last two times it has developed a dead miss. This only happens when we are going up a long steep hill. It will only happen if it fuel pedal is floored and only after it has been that way for some time. It is not a gradual loss of power, it is all of the sudden and only lasts about a second. It will then return to normal and will continue for a a while before doing the same. Runs great otherwise. Even after it has the "dead" second it runs great....? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.... Maybe completely unrelated but it has too run for a little bit, when you first start it, before it will give me full throttle. I had read this was normal, that the system made sure it was at operating temp ?

If you have a diesel engine I would look at changing the fuel filters.

Sorry, it is a diesel. 5.9 Cummings 300 hp. I thought of the filters but that usually isn't a sudden thing. It usually is a slightly gradual loss in power and doesn't return to normal suddenly? Then again I may be wrong. Certainly worth checking. Thanks

Changed fuel filters. Had small fuel leak..fixed. Same problem remains. It has a system that won't allow accelerator to give full power until oil pressure is where it needs to be. This has been taking too long. My gauge says I have good oil pressure sooner than it will give me "full throttle ". Now it has started to not let me have it even after it has been running for many miles (gauge still says good pressure). Also when engine brake is on it is supposed engage when I let off accelerator. It didn't engage a couple of times.. My question is could, all these problems be that the accelerator sensor is going bad?? Could this also be my miss when it has been pulling hard and accelerator has been fully pressed for an extended period ? Any insight would be GREATLY APPRECIATED! Than you

A quick miss and then it runs fine could only be an injector (think spark plug miss). Somebody needs to remove the injectors and check flow and spray pattern. Plugged fuel filter will make the engine loose power in general. Your engine an ISB has an exhaust brake not a Jake (engine brake) . Should be located on the exhaust manifold close to the turbo. See if the bell crank on device moves easily. If not it may be stuck open, closed or any place in between. Get it loose. Hope my advice is correct and helpful.
The throttle is kind of like a Rheostat. May be worn and need to be replaced. Do you know if your engine has electronic injector system or mechanical?

This is what we were thinking. Fuel system is mechanical. So you are thinking 2 separate problems, injector and worn throttle? The complete throttle pedal or just the sensor? The pac brake actually works well. When you let off accelerator the gear indicator will show "2" which says brake has been activated. It didn't show that the couple times this happened. Which tells me it didn't sense my foot had let the throttle up?? This along with it not letting me have full throttle when it should had me thinking the accelerator pedal sensor? This is what we also thought about the injectors. Was just hoping that the sensor might be responsible for the miss also. Thanks again for your help!

We are getting close to getting this thing figured out, maybe! Lol. Looking for location of the 3rd fuel filter, a inline filter. Looked haven't located it yet. Pulled codes..... Performed a vacuum test. Have fuel restriction between fuel tank and and lift pump. Thanks for any info

Here's a photo of what to look for , from what I've heard from other members, it's somewhere between the end compartment wall and the engine above the differential , as in the photo ,it can be hidden by the wiring harness .
