Could it be a way to just add oil to the engine? I thought I had read on this forum about a Country Coach that had something of that nature. That way the owner wouldn’t have to get his hands dirty topping off the oil in between changes.

I've had Snows methanol kit on the F-350 diesels I use to own. You ran a max of 50% water & 50% methanol. Was just a clear as straight water.
That kit is now on my son's 7.3 F-250.

Mine has that system, it's got an 8 gallon steel tank and a pump that delivers the oil directly to the engine sump. Just push the switch under the air cleaner on the passenger side. The tank has a sight gauge so I have some idea of how much is pumped in.

but if the hose went to the CAC tube (either side), you'd have a problem

Not to mention it likely would not be in that BOX.

Update.....

Took to Cummins in Coburg.....they had a lot of different answers but the consensus was an oiler for the turbo as the bottle would be too small for methanol injection. The timer starts when the ignition is turned on.

Why would you need an Oiler for the turbo?? The only oil going to the turbo is for the bearings and it is fed pressurized oil.

Have no idea but that's what they said and they weren't definite just what the consensus was

Probably more likely used when the motor is turned off after a hard run to keep the oil from coaking.
basically one of these
