04 Monaco Knight

I am looking at an 04 Monaco Knight with 12, 000 miles and a 7.5 kw gen set.

Any issues with these units ?

Yes, one big one possibly. Some of the 02-04 Knights had trailing arm that cracked. Replacement is in the $3000-4000 range.

I believe the Knight was built on a 4 air bag chassis. Aside from the trailing arm issue on some, I think you want to drive the unit. I understand that some of the 4 air bag chassis coaches did not ride and handle very well.

when did they change the chassis?

My 08 knight is an RR8R, but older ones are rr4r?

I don't know what year they changed the chassis. In 2004 the Knight coaches were made with the RR4R chassis, which was 4 air bags and 4 shocks.

The Knights and Ambassadors got the RR8R beginning with the 05 model year.

Paint had a problem, especially the dark colors. Looks sort of like short (1/2") fiberglass strands come to the surface.
It DOES have the trailing arm problem and would be fixed before I drove it around the block!!
