05 Scepter Hydraulic leveling Installation

We are researching the installation of a hydraulic leveling system that was never installed on our Scepter. We have the Firestone air system and well, that pretty well sucks.

Is the original system easy enough for a shade tree mechanic to install or will it be tough enough to take to a shop?

Anybody know what the original manufacturer/model is?

As always, thanks for your help.

I had the Firestone system in my 05 Imperial. Once I dialed it in , it worked very well and I never used my hydraulic system.

The original hydraulic system was the RVA model 35 J-11 in mine.

They are still in business http://rvajacks.com/

Smile Leveling System

Thanks for the reply.

We had it recalibrated and it will not get totally level. Because so many things seem to rely on the coach being level, we decided to try to install the jacks so we won't have to worry about it any more. We seem to have a slow leak as well. The MH is new to us ( a couple of months ) and we're trying to get all the small details correct so we can have fun with it.

We're still learning about the inverters, cut off switches, air system etc. It is a little overwhelming sometimes. My husband is about ready to give up and buy a mini van!

Since your coach has no hydraulic jack system, I would guess you have the auxiliary pump to maintain level for the Firestone system.
Many of these small air pumps die from corrosion because they are exposed to the elements.
Check under the coach on the passenger side for a small air pump. Some are under the passenger seat area and others are above the rear axles passenger side.

If you have one, it can be cheaply replaced by a Viar unit.

Make sure your mechanic fixed the grounding issue on your system or it will not level correctly.
