Having a problem with the roadside bedroom slide. It will go out and come in no problem but stops about 6 inches from full open. Have checked for obstructions and found none. Coach is level. I am thinking possible bad limit switch. Any thoughts?

redcrown..when you state you have checked for obstructions...does that mean you have also checked the bottom from the outside?
The rollers have been known to "punch holes" in the outer bottom of the slide...

We have an 07 Diplomat and we had problems with our bedroom slide.

It turned out that the bearings, which are located under the bed, was completely crushed. You can lift the bed and remove the plywood sheet in the bed cavity to check on this. We contacted the slide-out fabricator (the name escapes me for now and I can't go check since I am 5000 miles away from our MH) and they shipped out new bearing to me since we was still under their warranty.

The replacement job was not to difficult at all but as usual I did panic before finding this out .

I do recognise the problem MM is referring to about the underside of the slide-out being damaged and this is something I will have to address shortly.

Hi redcrown, I have an 08 HR with electric bedroom slide, couple of things happened. At first ti would trip the circuit breaker 2-3 times before it opened all the way. I adjusted the rollers, made sure it was square in the opening and didn't put to much pressure on either the top or bottom seals. So far so good! good luck gary

Everything is normal on the outside, slide goes in and out with no problem just stops six inches from full travel. Will pull the panel under the bed and have a look see. Will post my findings, thanks to all for your input!

Red Crown,
I have a '07 Endeavor 40PDQ. When you have run the slide out in the past have you heard a ratcheting noise? There are no limit switches on the drive mechanism. When the in or out limit is reached the ratcheting limits the drive. I would thing there is some sort of obstruction stopping the slide. My problem was a stripped nylon gear in the drive motor assembly and there was no movement in or out. There is a nut attached to the end of the drive shaft which you can manually ratchet the slide in or out. The mechanich resides under the plywood, under the bed, toward the head of the bed.

I just went through my archive and found a couple of photo's showing the failure we had. It will also show the name of the slide-out manufacturer that i couldn't remember.

Same happened to me. Look at Danes second pic. You see the roller? See the retangular hunk of aluminum that is bolted to the runner? Thaht bolt came loose and would jam up the slide leaving a gap. Mine did not have a lock washer on it. It does now.

Problem Solved!!! Removed the plywood cover and found a extension tube for the central vac system blocking the slide out. That tube must have been riding around there from day one. Also found the left overs of someones lunch, if these wall could talk! Thanks again for everyones input.
