08 camelot hydraulic pump noise

on my 08 Camelot there always a noise like you would hear on a old pickup when its low on power steering fluid. it does get louder when steering wheel is moved. Hydraulic reservoir in engine compartment is full, what looks like hydraulic filter on left side has gauge to tell when it needs servicing, its in the green. Is there a separate pump for the power steering ? Thanks

Will be interesting to see the replies. I have a 2009 Scepter that does the same thing.
Does your caoch have a slight whine from the rear axle on a steady speed and goes away we coast down?

That could be from your drive line not correct. Check your ride height and be sure everything is adjusted correctly.

Have your filters every been changed? I don't have the green gauge you mentioned, but I change my filters based on time.

Think Bill is talking about the internal filter(s) inside the hyd reservoir.
If your guage on your spin on filter is in the green, it's likely not causing any issues.

Ben: speaking of the Hydraulic gauge with spin on filter ( mine is a Zinga SE-10, how about yours? Also my reservoir a short tank ( not 16 quarts like some) doesn’t have an internal filter, does yours? Now the gauge, simple 1/8” NPTF, do you know the model or part number? Mine is broke, no part # or face on it. I notice Zinga had some on their web site but don’t know which one or pressure by pass rating. Thx in advance.

Yeah, mine came with the Zinga SE-10, but Napa cross referenced it to a Donaldson filter for me.
I haven't opened my reservoir up yet. Hopefully it will be the same as yours and have no filters in there. Is your res round?
I'll have a look at the guage for any markings for ya tomorrow.

my spin on filter is a Baldwin BT8307 ordered one from napa today, cant put it on till fri evening, will let you know results. I just figured since there is a large spin on external filter that there wasn't one in the reservoir. mine is a short canister as well.

I have a 2006 Camelot that just started making a similar noise when turning the steering wheel at slow speeds.

Very interested to find out what you come up with as a solution.
