12 volt lights flickering

I have a 2005 Camelot that the 12 volt lights have started flickering. I bypassed the salesman switch several years ago, so I know that it is not that. I just checked all the batteries and all read good. I also checked all connections were tight. Any hints as to where I should be looking next?

Maybe check your salesman solenoid connections that you used to disable the salesman switch. Maybe they are loose.

On one of our previous coaches we had the same problem when plugged into shore power. It ended up being the converter. Replaced it and all lights lit up just fine.

Don. My salesman switch is located in the bay outside near the driver seat It's on the main board and had a purple wire connected to the coil of the solenoid. At least that is where mine is.

Are they dimming or actually flickering?

If dimming, just put a voltmeter across the batteries and see if the voltage drops when they go dimmer.

IF the voltage drops, use a hydrometer on your batteries to see if they are sick. If they are several years old they are probably drawing the voltage down trying to charge.

Check the ground connection. Also, a good digital voltmeter might show voltage variations that are causing light flicker. Does it happen when hooked to shore power as well as when unhooked? If only on shore power, I'd blame the converter/charger.

We had a problem like that when the coach battery disconnect switch got flakey and finally failed.
