Every once in a while my overhead flourescent light will blink and will do so for what seems like an hour or so. A friend who has a 98 Dynasty says his lights blink quite often.

Anyone have an idea as to what causes this? All connections and fuses seem to be okay but the blinking drives me up a wall.

Thanks

Wayne

Look here:
12 Volt House Problem/Solution

I had to bypass this relay last spring and it's worked perfectly ever since.

I see two possible issues, in addition to what has been posted

1: I am fond of saying many of us RVers have a few screws loose.. No, not the Mental kind,, the METAL kind, a #2 square or roberson bit is often the tool to tighten them with. Though in my coach the 12 volt systems do not use screws.. Yours... Might. Check them

2nd is the battery voltage.. If it goes too low the inverter that is built into the lamp (It is called a DC Ballast by many but it's really an inverter) may fail.

3: (I just thought of) is that said device can fail, for other reasons too. Plus the lamps can fail... This is a fairly common failure mode in 120 volt lamps/socket/ballest/starter assemblies.

We are checking for loose connections but so far have not found any. The batteries have a good charge. Right now we are thinking it may be one of the 5 solenoids on the coach. I bought a rubber mallet so the next time it does that I will give each solenoid a good whack.

I found a Tekonsha solenoid at a camper dealer and bought his entire stock of them....a total of one! For $21.95!

Thanks
