1994 Monaco Executive air dryer maintenance

Hi all, first post here. I need a question answered please. I own a 1994 Monaco Executive and I have done all the filter changes required except for the air dryer maintenance. I don't know what brand and model air dryer unit I have and I sure don't know where to locate it. I thought maybe it had a screw on Haldex dissiant filter DA 33120 and a coalescing filter DQ 6032. Probably wrong about this as I can not locate another screw on type filter anyplace. Thanks for any help.

Your air dryer is a Haladex and the kit you will need is a DQ6026 and the price generally runs $125+ for the kit the location will be just above the Allison and be prepared to get dirty and greasy. You will need a heavy strap wrench and probably a cheater pipe. You might want to do as I did and remove the Haladex Pure Air plus and replace with a Meritor Wabco R955205 that uses a R950011 filter that is available for less than $40. One of the bad features of the pure air plus is if the Coalescing filter ruptures it will contaminate the air dryer with hair like fibers and could hang the unloader open stranding you beside the road if you dont have a bypass that is easily made with a 3/4 T two hose fittings (air in and out) and a 3/4 to 1/4 bushing for the governor sensing line.

Thanks Walt. I did find a long canister near the front right side of the Allison. It has fins that go the whole length of the canister. On one of the straps that holds it in place it had Midland in large red letters. At the bottom of the canister is a plate with 6 nuts holding it on. There is T line with 2 hose lines going in opposite directions. Is that a bypass? Does the canister hold the Coalescing filter? Thanks again.
Carl

Walt, I went ahead and ordered the kit DQ6026. Still can't find the screw on filter. I will search harder tomorrow as it is getting dark out. Thanks again.

Carl hold up on ordering the kit for it sounds like you have a different air dryer than the pure air plus, do a google.

The kit is only 30 on ebay. I also found instructions on the Monaco site to service it. Initially the unit cost twice what the newer unit runs. You can still buy the whole unit online at several sites. Thanks.
