Cruise is inop on this coach which belongs to a friend of mine. I am planning to help him either repair or replace it. It is a Rostra and they do not support this model any more. Is there any tech info on the system, including a wiring diagram and perhaps description of what wires do what? I have checked out the control stick and the switches seem to work ok. Also, I have 12vdc going to the module under the dash. Some sort of troubleshooting info would be very helpful. Second, is there a source for the module if that is determined to be defective? Finally, if we have to change out the entire system, is there a recommended system that is used to replace the OEM one? I believe the engine is a Cummins B5.9.

Thanks for the help.

As you know, stepping on the brake pedal (and/or applying the engine brake) causes the brake lights to illuminate. Typically, this 12VDC "signal" is also sent to the cruise control brain. Suggest testing that this "signal" is present....and not "on" all the time. If it were "on", then the CC would never work.

But troubleshooting in general:
Another blog here at IRV2 had an owner disassembling, cleaning, and re-connecting all connections that had anything to do with the cruise control and even transmission control. Somewhere in that effort, the cruise control began working again.
