1999 Monaco Exec Air schematics

Looking for some help, Monaco seems unable to provide. I have a 1999 Monaco 40' Executive with the Cummins M11. I bought it cheap two years ago and it ran well enough to make it home to GA from FL. I knew it was a project coach, but then my health took a trip"'south" so to speak and I have not been able to work on it until just recently. I have a great friend who is a retired Penske truck maintenance man. He's been helping me try to solve some of the mysteries of the coach, which have not been helped by two years of sitting. We have major electrical challenges but I think we can solve them. We do have it running again but the air system has gone haywire.

I can't get the engine to charge the air system enough to release the parking brake. I need to move the coach but am reluctant to "cage" the brakes knowing the potential danger there. We need some schematics of the air system to know where to look for the leaks, but can't find any in old Monaco documentation and their technical support phone line has no access to them either. I am lucky enough to have wiring diagrams for this specific coach but nothing on the air system. Can any of you good folks help? I have searched the web with no luck.

You won't find any air system schematics specific to your coach. Monaco never made any (that anyone can find). A generic schematic is probably the best you'll find. These coach air systems are the same as trucks (tanks and hose routing varies, but the major components are the same).

If your engine is running and your not building air pressure (confirm by opening a tank drain) and your not hearing any external air leaks, then most likely the governor is bad (second most likely the compressor unloader valve(s) are stuck open.

Take the large ss braided line off (either at the compressor or at the Air Dyer, which ever is easiest to get to) start the engine and see if air is coming out of the compressor.

Wow DtBt, that was great. Do you have anymore diagrams or schematics for these old Monacos?

There should be a air quick coupler at the front of you coach that you can plug an air
line into to fill your tanks. It would be quieter to hear for air leaks. If the tanks fill up that
way then check the governor or air compressor.

I did collect a few things when I owned a 99 Windsor. I can't remember where I got the chassis drawings, probably via monacoers yahoo group.
