I have a 2000 holiday Rambler endeavor 40 ft 330 hp cat. From what everyone tells me, they are almost identical, like clones. Monaco makes both. Mine has a Frieghtliner chassis, the diplomat may have a roadmaster. Either way you can't go wrong, they are very reliable coaches.
Just the usual caveat before buying, inspection, car fax, etc.
Otherwise, I love ours.

Here is the brochure:

The standard generator on that coach was an LP model. The optional 7.5 kw diesel is much preferred. Coach is built on an 8 airbag Roadmaster chassis which is still still being used today. Overall, a solid coach.
At this age, prior maintenance is very important and if records are available you should go over them in detail. Look at the dates on the tires. If approaching 7 years old, build in replacement cost into the deal.
Good luck and safe travels.

We have an '01 HR Endeavor and love it. Along with the tires, you might want to see if it still has the factory Monroe shocks on it. Depending on if you go with Bilsteins or Koni's you may need new shocks to the tune of ~ $800-$1,000. Check your hydraulic jacks for any fluid leaks as they can get pricey to rebuild/replace.
I think you'll love this coach as we haven't had any major problems.

We had a 2001 Diplomat 38A and loved it. It was a great coach. Agree with all that's been said. Koni FSD shocks and good tires will help it to behave well.

Thanks Guy, I am now the new owner of a 2001 Monaco Diplomat 40 ft, we were ready to leave AZ for home and the guy accepted my offer, I have 80 miles under my belt and 1,600 miles next week, it rides great.
