2001 Dynasty Headlights

I have heard they are 2000 bmw 500 headlights but has anyone swapped theirs that has a part number or manufacture they are happy with?
Can you use halogen with the same wiring or are led the answer?

Iíve sanded and sealed mine and they look good but now one has moisture inside the lens.

Would those be the same headlights used on a 2001 Diplomat ? Mine are clouded over and don't work well at night and I'd love to replace them, love to find ones that work better
Thanks
Michael

2001 Dynasty Headlights

Hey how about tail lights for the 2001 dynasty? Also I donít know if my oem are halogen or not but is the oem wiring a limiting factor as far as halogen or led?

Tail light -
TYC 93-97 98 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE

It had a note that said it was also used on a 2002 Windsor. I broke one of mine ~5 years ago and had to replace one, this is what I ordered.

LED shouldn't be a problem as they usually use substantially less power and generate less heat. Not sure on halogen.

If your 2001 Head lamps are the same as my 2000 Be careful about LEDs. The halogen lens was not made for the LED lamps. I bought some but the light is too "scattered" I did some mods to them with the help of someone here on IRV2 but have not been able to test yet. There are some threads on IRV2 about LEDs. HID etc.
Make sure your voltage is not dropped to the lamps. Some have reported the cheap import replacements can work ok. They can be junk. I would like to find a good quality replacement too.

Jeff,
My originals on my 2000 are halogen. Hoping someone will chime in with results of replacing the entire assembly. Another caution on the BMW lights. you can adjust them but the adjuster mechanism can become stuck over time and they can be fragile.

When I bought my coach in late 2008 both my headlights were hazed. I replaced my headlight assemblies probably 9 years ago with aftermarket assemblies. They still look good.

Was not a hard job since my generator is on a slide and I had good access to both sides.

Jeff,
if you have not discovered this already.
If you google headlamps for 2001 Dynasty you will get some hits for aftermarket lamps on ebay amazon and others. one of them I found looks more like the OEMs from Hella.

You will also find some links to previous IRV2 threads that might be helpful.

The aftermarkets look great, their quality can be on the low side but might be a solution that can work. Please let us know if you find something that works.

Hella's are a little more expensive, but I think they are better lights than the Chinese knockoffs. There was a thread recently that delved into the difference between OEM BMW and knockoff quality and performance.
