Am considering purchasing a well maintained 2001 Endeavor with 52,000 miles. Can anyone give me some insight into that coach. It is a step or two down from my defunct 99 Eagle, but offers good options.

I'm sure you already looked at the brochure
http://www.holidayrambler.com/Static...01endeavor.pdf

It seems well appointed and slides are on the good side. I like it.

I don't know about the Eagle and I don't know which frame was used for the Endeavor, it just says Raised rail. I would make sure it's not the RR4R with the famous bad trailing arms but...if it would be I'm sure they would have failed after 52,000 miles.

Good luck.

I think it is a step down but it is a good coach and I would not have a problem with the rear radiator, its just a little harder to keep clean but less to go wrong, I had a 99 diplomat (same as the endeavor) and would not have a problem going back to either the dip or endeavor.

The endeavor I am looking at has the 8 airbags. I don't think it has the trailing arm problem. It rides a bit stiffer than the American Eagle but the 330 cummins has great power.

No trailing arm problem on that coach and yes it will probably ride a little firmer than the Eagle 4 bag chassis, the ride and handling is generally improved with new shocks. the Endeavor will have Monroe shocks and with the miles you posted they are probably shot if they haven't been changed. Go here to read a good thread on shocks.
Monaco Factory Installed Bilstein Shock Information
Forgot to say that I really like the roof on the Endeavor and early Dips, it aluminum and gives no problem as long as the maintenance is done once a year.

Thanks for the info it helps me with my decision. I also had a call from a friend that has had HR's and Monico's. And he would not hesitate purchasing this one.

I bought a 2001 with 4500 miles on it just recently, and my family and I LOVE it! Great coach and it has been very dependable. No problems to speak of, been on two long trip weekends and can't say anything bad about the purchase. I say go for it, I'm very happy with this RV.

Bought ours almost 2yrs ago AND LOVE IT.. We are planning a LONG trip around the U.S. starting March. Leaving from the Good Sam rally in Phoenix going south and then clock-wise around the U.S. (over the Lakes) and back to California.

So do we. We are going to the Good Sam rally in Phoenix and then head south and do a round the U.S. in 80 DAZE clockwise.

Mkinght enjoy your new to you MH. One thing I would recommend is take it to a Cummings Dealer and have them do a complete servicing. It will cost around $1000.00 but it will give you a good base to start from, plus they will update your ECM. I had mine done and they did 18 updates to the ECM.......

Best of Luck Lee
