2001 Monaco Diplomat 38 slide out

Out for the first time with this Motor Home my father left me. Would like to use slide out. Owners manual talks of a bar that locks it in? Can not find this bar? When pushing slide out button seems to be locked at the top towards back. Does it lock from the top at the canopy? Must have been an option to eliminate this bar? Any ideas? Don't want to hold button down to see what breaks.

I have the same rig. I heard of the lock bar on the slide. I believe it us on the top of slide. I doubt it's locked.
When the slide is in. Feel along the top of the slurs and see if you feel a bar. I think there is a screw lock.

The bar should be between the wall and the top flange on the slide out. In my opinion the bar should be stored under the bed and left there, I have never used my bar it is only good for damaging the slide or wall I think.

I agree Walt. I never use mine either.

I used mine on a 1999 Diplomat I had, I hit rough road on a mountian pass and it fell out between the wall and the kitchen slide. It took 1/2 hr to fish it out and I never used it again!
