2003 Holiday Rambler Ambassador Pre-Purchase

I'm going to look at a 2003 holiday rambler ambassador 34pdd in a few days.
I understand these has a chassis recall due to trailing arm failure. Aside from an upgraded trailing arm design what else should I look for? The sales guy has also noted this model has a fiberglass roof? Was this a positive or negative selling point? Thanks for any help

I have the same fiberglass roof and it is great. I walk on it several times a year and it has held up great.

My 2004 Monaco La Palma actually has the HR decal on the top front of coach.

Good morning Lostbickaroo; Just read your post. The first thing that caught my eye was the line, this model has a fiberglass roof! I was sure it did not as I was looking at Monaco Knights of this year. The Ambassador is the sister coach to the Knight. I just went and checked the brochure on line and under chassis construction it reads, aluminum roof. Are you sure the roof is fiberglass. As other will tell you, the salesmen is not always correct. just wanted to let you know if you might be getting some bad info. Nothing wrong with the aluminum roof, just more seems to seal. Hope you find this info helpful. Also, do check out the trailing arm issue. You could get more info on that subject by calling Source Engineering in Coburg Oregon. They have the upgraded trailing arm and have a good web site. Also do the standard check of all the systems in the coach as well as tires and battery age. Might want to get the coach inspected by a professional if you do not have the experience in all the complexities and systems of a DP coach. Good luck!
