2003 Monaco Diplomat Door Screen

Hello,
The little black tabs that hold my screen onto the door are broken off. Does anyone know of a fix for this? It looks like the tabs are molded into the door and are not removable?

Thank you for your help.

It looks like they are held in by rivets. You should be able to get turn style window screen clips at Home Depot. Drill out the broken clips rivets and put the new ones on with a sheet metal screw. You can replace them all if you can’t find ones to match close enough

There are several brand retaining clips available. Such as https://encrypted-tbn2.gstatic.com/s...g6n9g&usqp=CAY
You will need to drill out the rivet and use a screw or aluminum rivet when you reassemble.

Those clips can be purchased at Home Depot or the likes I have replaced mine a few times over the years.

That being said the last time I needed the clips replaced I forego the clips and removed them and removed the screen and put very very small dabs of black silicone sealer in all 4 corners and a dab on each side in the middle and reinstalled the screen.

No more broken clips and best of all no more rattles and should I decide to remove the screen?...I just gently pry out with a small plastic pry tool.

Looks much cleaner IMO also

Happy Trails

I just repaired ours last night!
I purchased the screen clips on Amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I tried both Home Depot and Lowes but the clips were the wrong offset and/or the wrong color.
I used 3/16" dia x 1/4 to 3/8" grip length aluminum pop rivets. It is important they are aluminum rivets with an aluminum mandrel (nails). The first rivets I used were alum body with steel nails and they crushed the plastic retainer.

Monaco used black screen retainers with 0 offset and then used a white hard nylon spacer to make it fit over the screen frame. They also used 1/8" dia rivets as their screen retainers had 1/8" holes. They then painted the spacer and rivet black.

I couldn't find the original screen reatainer in black with 1/8" holes so i used the ones above with 3/16" dia rivets.
I masked around the retainer and spray painted the rivet non-gloss black.

Is there any chance you would have a direct link to amazon for the rivets and screws? Thank you!

The rivet assortment I ordered on Amazon did not work! The mandrel (nail) was steel, not aluminum as advertised and they crushed the plastic retainer.

So I went down to the local hardware store and purchased a name brand package of all aluminum rivets. I'll check tonight and give you the name and part number.

Do you already have a pop rivet tool?

The rivets I bought are Channel Lock brand aluminum 3/16" dia X 1/4" grip part number 381705.
You can get a pop rivet gun on Amazon for $16.54.
https://www.amazon.com/Stanley-MR100...=pop+rivet+gun

If you are in the southern CA area I'll loan you mine with some screen retainers and rivets.
