2004 Beaver Monterrey Norcold 1200 Replacement
Looking at replacing our Norcold 1200 due to a ongoing fight and large bills attempting to keeping it running
Has anyone replaced there norcold with a Samsung Rf19. I am concerned about how to get it through the front door. Is there a trick or suggestion anyone has to make it easier
Thanks
Bill

I put that RF18 in my 06 Monterey. It went through the front door with the doors removed on the refer. Disconnect the door scissor hinge at the top of the door so it opens more than 90* Remove the passenger seat (four bolts) and you will be able to fit through the door. Be carful with the woodwork so you don't bang it up wrestling that big baby in there. Plug it into the receptacle that runs off the inverter behind the refer. If that is the same circuit as the entertainment system you may have a problem with the circuit breaker blowing. I know I did. To correct that I wired mine to it's own circuit as there was a spare in the cabinet run by the inverter.
You will love it when you get it done.
I also added two more house batteries in the battery tray and moved the chassis batteries behind the back bumper area.

Ed 18 height
The Samsung Rf18 is 71 inches high. The Norcold 1200 measures 65.5 how did you get the extra 5.5 inches to accommodate the rf18

I think that depends on your cabinet layout. Some have a furnace under the fridge. In my case, I have plumbing and electrical and it's not practical to drop the floor down any. So I've got to go up. I have a small cabinet above the fridge that I'll end up loosing, but we only store extra paper towels up there, so not a great loss.

I have a Monterey Ventura. I recently had a similar dilemma. But in the end I just could not cut into these beautiful cabinets nor did I have any desire to remove a windshield to bring one in.
Instead of swapping out the whole fridge I contacted JR Refrigeration and picked up a residential cooling unit for my 1200. It's a pretty easy install if you know a couple little tricks or you can go there and they will install it. I had some issues early on with mine but they went over and above to be sure it worked and I am more than satisfied now.
They have more options now than when I got mine so lots of choices.

If boondocking is not a big factor, I would consider replacing the cooling unit with one of the compressor-type cooling units from J.C. Refrigeration!
