2004 Dynasty Big Boy and Chassis Batterys?

I am looking for info, I do not think that my chassis batteries are being charged when connected to shore power.

the leg of the BB that feeds the house batteries reads around 13.38 while the leg that feeds the Chassis is 13 +-. The chassis have been as low as 12.5 when checked after sitting plugged into a 50 amp service after 2 weeks, The solar charger is helping but I feel that the shore power should charging them to a higher level?

Also the battery boost function doesn't seam to be doing anything.

Going down the road the alternator is charging at around 14.1 or so.

Thanks in advance.

Burgy, I would look for a bad cell in your chassis batteries.

Burgy,

Call Monaco tech support and get them to help you troubleshoot it. There is a circuit board over on the far right side of the rear run box that has a couple of small yellow buttons on it. That circuit board is the controller for the Big Boy. There is a procedure for pressing the yellow buttons & it will tell you if the circuit board is functioning correctly. i went through it with them once several years ago but I don't remember the drill.

Ok here is an update..

After thinking about this issue I decided the pull the Big Boy apart.. 77-90006-120,
Found the Copper posts and slip ring covered in corrosion, cleaned coated with dielectric grease and re-assembled. Now things are charging like they should and the Battery bost functions. Yippie!

One thing I found puzzling was that this relay is missing the Magnetic pole lock on the top. there is a place for it but it doesn't appear there has ever been one. Looking at the
53-00507-100 I wonder If I can use this version?
