Hi, We just purchased a 2004 Monaco Monarch. I'm thinking about replacing the front Tv whichg is the old analog type. Do any of you know how the current TV would br attached in the housing? I'm thinking that removal starts with taking the front trim off. Any help would sure be appreciated.

stegosaurus....It's hard to know without a photo.....on mine there was a piece of wood trim held on by screws that were capped with the decorative wood plugs. Once you remove the trim, Monaco used an aluminum box that screwed to the plastic of the TV. This aluminum box had several screws. Remove those screws and the TV should slide/fall out.

I was able to put the wood trim back on and find a 32" TV that fit into the trim. I made a frame inside the old box and attached a frame with four studs to the back of the TV. The TV slips into the opening and I put four nuts on the back to hold it in.

There's a good chance your setup is the same as mine was. It has been 4 years since I pulled mine, but, here goes:

1.Remove the air vent located on the back of the TV cabinet. There may be aluminum anchors or small L clamps hooked to the back of the TV.
2. While you are there, disconnect the cables.
3. Remove the front trim and look for front anchor points. This may consist of a front wood holdback and/or L brackets.

If yours is in a tilted cabinet and it is the 27" RCA, stand by to receive an 80 lb load sliding toward you.

Thanks for the advice to both of you. Right now we have about 10" of snow out there but as soon as it stops coming down, I'll try to get the old one out

We have a 05 Monach and the directions above is how ours came out. What I did is put in a 26" flat screen. I was able to put the front trim back on flat instead of the top slopping out. I also put a 2 X 10 on the passenger side and mounted a pull-out swivel mount to it. Now we can pull the TV out and swing it over towards the passenger side for better viewing. I left the foot or base mounted to the TV so when I swing it back for travel that is carrying the weight. I put carpet over the floor of the TV area and used a spring tension rod with a curtain over it to hide the DVD's etc that are stored behind the TV. It has worked out very well for our needs.

i just replaced my replacement. i installed a 26" a couple of yrs ago and decided to go with a 32". originally i couldn't figure out how to get the 32 in without major surgery to the side cabinets. so i finally ripped the tv cab part out re used the side panels by planning them down to 3/8" thick cut off 3" of bottom ressesed the tv back 3" (not in the walk path anymore) put a new back and bottom on and mounted the tv dirctly to 3/4" plywood hinged at the top. for easy access to the inside. very happy with the final results. jim
