My 2004 Safari Cheetah will not crank. Have new batteries "2day old" full charge. Master switch is on. Had starter checked out. OK. Power to key switch and when I turn the key I hear a click coming from the bay under the driver seat. Have a wiring diagram but it is not to clear on where each componet is. Sure could use some help on this one. Thanks Stevebr.

My suggestion would be to put a test meter on the starter while someone turns the key - make sure you are getting 12 volts or better. If you are getting the proper voltage to the starter when the key is turned, hit the starter with a hammer while someone is turning the key trying to start it. That may work to get it started.

It's been written herein that some rigs have cargo-door-open and/or slide-is-out "lock out" switches. These units won't start if a lockout is in effect. Then there's the hammer option too....

Thanks for the help. Two days and have the problem solved. First there is not a wire direct from the starter to the battery as the wiring diagram indicates.. The wire that goes to the starter goes somewhere forward above the storage compartments. When you turn the key there is a clicking sound like a relay or some kind of contact trying to close. I was nort getting power to the starter only to the selonoid. Ran a wire direct to the battery and started and eveerything works fine. Wish I knew what the clicking sound is comming from but there is no way to see inside the tunnel where the wires go. Any ideas what it could be? I think it is a relay that is used to supply power to the starter when the key is on. Just a guess? Thanks Stevebr
