2006 Navigator passenger front slide adjustment
If you have instructions on how to raise the slide on the front passenger slide it would be appreciated. My slide is tearing up my bottom seal and i have a slight gap at the top towards the rear of the slide.
This slide has a couch in front and the kitchen sink towards the rear.
I just talked to HWH, so i think i am headed in the right direction, but they were pretty vague and said raising the slide would be instructions from monaco, but we all know that monaco won’t give us that info any more.
I think this is an X slide.
Thank you.

unfortunately, I don't have instructions. But when I changed out my floors a couple years ago, I had to re-adjust that particular slide. I jacked it up from the outside. I believe I have 3 rollers. The 2 rear most rollers are accessible from inside the cabinet. I have to take out a drawer on one of them and remove a panel on the other. The forward roller is accessed from inside the wheel well. The goal is to get all rollers carrying their share of the weight, so I had to adjust pretty much all of them on that slide.
Do adjustments in fairly small increments. If you do jack up the slide, be careful you don't lift it too much where you start lifting the coach.

You need to adjust the rollers that support the slide room. Look in the ceiling of the basement compartment under the Slide room. You should see a 3/4" hex head adjustment bolt (with a 3/4 lock nut). You just screw that bolt in to raise the roller (and raise the room).
Here' a picture of one of the roller shown from the inside with the slide extended. The black metal piece above it is the X-Frame mechanism on that side.
Bill is right about adjusting them equally. When I did mine I turned each bolt in one full turn each (that kept the loading the same on each roller). I did not jack up the coach - just turned the nut.

If the slide is the roller type similar to county Bs, The Mounting/adjuster bracket is possibly sitting on wood. The bracket may "sink" into the wood over time. Also if the rollers have the nylon sleeve on them insure that sleeve is not damaged. If they are you need new rollers. Easy to change from the top side under kitchen cabinets but a little harder work from the bottom side under the couch. This was the case on my 2000 anyway.

One thing I didn't mention or ask, What is the condition of the slide bottom? If the rollers are digging into the bottom, you need to look at guardian plates before adjusting the rollers.

We had a catastrophic failure of 3 rollers on that slide this year. The rollers brackets broke and allowed the slide to drop. In order to replace the rollers in the floor of the coach, the slide would need to be removed. I was able to weld the brackets better than new and adjusted them slightly up to hold the slide off the bottom of the opening. Long story so far but what needed adjusting was the X slide mechanism itself. It is designed to carry most of the load of the slide. Elite in Oregon fixed the X-frame adjustment, it had actually slid down the wall on both sides. So what I am saying is it could be a combination of two things, your rollers may need adjustment, and your X-frame could need adjustment. I assume our coaches are similar, I have 3 rollers in the floor of the coach starting in the front and 2 rollers in the base of the cabinet nearer the rear. Also if possible I would jack up the slide slightly when you adjust the rollers. I am very gun shy after our trouble, the thought of pulling the slide out to replace the rollers scared me. Sorry for the long post.

I had a leaking hyd cylinder on my X-Slide. In the photo above you can see the oil mess and drip. That's when I noticed the outer sleeve on the roller failing. I replaced the roller and the hyd cylinder (and both chains in the X-Slide).
But Bill's post reminded me that when I was working on the X-Slide I noticed a couple of the bolts that attach the X-Slide brackets to the Slide Room where missing. Closer inspection revealed that a couple had broken off and the rest where loose on both sides, top and bottom mounts. Those are the 3/8" hex head self tapping screws you can see in the photo. You can only see the lower most bracket in the photo. There is a total of four or six (as I recall) of these mounting screws at bracket at each end of the X-Slide mechanism/arms.
So definitely check those mounting bolts. If they had all broken off (and they probably would have if I didn't catch it when I did) the Slide Room would not be able to move - which would have been a big problem if it was in the extended position and it was time to leave campsite. Maybe worse, could have cocked and damaged the room.

Ditto on the X slide mounting bolts being inadequately installed. I had a broken roller and several mounting bolts had never been installed allowing the slide to drop over time.

Thanks all, I believe Bill767 and i have the same setup. HWH said I would have to raise it at the point where the mechanism attaches to the slide. I also have 3 rollers, one at the front accessible in fuel tank bay the other two under the cabinet. The 2 inside only seem to support the bottom of the cabinet and cannot support the weight to raise the slide
Appreciate all the replies.

We had a 4th roller in the front wheel well opening covered by a black plastic cover about 12" long by 3 inches wide or so, along with the others already mentioned. You might check on that. Otherwise, I went through the same adjusting processes. I read somewhere that it is best to take the weight off the slide a little with a jack outside before turning the adjusting bolts. Trying to lift the slide with the adjusting bolt may pull the mounting screws out of the bracket. If the bottom of the slide is caving in a little, some folks have used a stainless kick plate where the roller rides. They are available at Lowes and others. Hope this may help. Happy Trails Bert
