Does the 2007 Diplomat have a factory installed 50 amp surge protector?
I am about to buy one and will take the one off of the old coach, if the Dip does not already have one.

I bought an 07 new in Aug 06 and it did not. I don't recall that it was even a factory option.
Good luck. Great unit. We love our 40PDQ

We have an 07 Camelot and I don't have one. Not sure there is an option for one.

I will pull the one I had put on the Admiral last year.
There is nothing like staying in bed at 3 AM in the middle a big lighting storm, and saying, "I don't have to get up and unplug the shore power. I love my surge protector."

Lukeaa,
As others have said, no surge protector on the Diplomat. You have to add one yourself.
What floor plan are you getting?

Ah, so he is! Not a bad choice, if I do say so, myself.
Great floorplan, Luke. You'll love it.

We take delivery of the SFT in Las Vegas next week. I will find someone in Quartzite to install the surge protector. We are excited to be moving up to a diesel and more room. I look forward to chatting with other SFT owners to see what mods you have made. The first one I will do is install a RO water filter unit, so we will have good water to drink in Quartzite. I also have a new solar controller coming. I should have time to install my panels in the next month.
Rob, I really love your site: http://www.robmorgan.net/Dip/Mods.htm#Power

Luke...You will find all sorts of great information from Robin_M's site along with lots of info from the othr non-SFT owners!
You may want to go up to the top post showing all the modifications that have been done from the others!
I am excited for your upcoming delivery, Luke... but I am definitely wearing my "female side" tomight...so I have to ask.. what is the color scheme of your new unit?

Edwardian Bronze in and out with Champagne wood. We did not really have a color preference. We made the decision on price and floorplan.

Luke..Have you taken delivery yet?
By the way...you have Rob's color scheme with my cabinets...
Make sure you do the "Xantrex Echo-Charge" that Rob has on his mods page. That was one of the first things we did on our coach. (We think it should be standard on the coach...oh well )
Keep us posted on all your mods too!

I love the Edwardian Bronze colors - inside, and especially outside. Suzanne thinks it is a little too dark inside, but your lighter shade of cabinets will lighten things up just a bit. I think you ended up with both a great floor plan, and great colors.
BTW, I second MM's suggestion about getting the echo-charge unit. You can pick one up here for about a hundred bucks, and it's easy to install.

Robin,
We like the colors, inside and out. The Admiral had cherry cabinets, and it was too dark.
I will not be using an echo charge unit for the chassis battery. The solar controller I am installing puts out 5 amps to the chassis battery. http://www.amsolar.com/hpv30.html
I have always liked solar as we have to store our coach in a storage yard and there is no place to plug in. With the solar panels, the house batteries are always charged when we pick up the coach. It is also nice as we like to boondock at the beach.
We are scheduled for the pre-delivery inspection on Wednesday morning and then will move in on Wednesday afternoon and Thursday. Friday, we are off to Las Vegas. I have five days in a park there, to give us time to completely move in and get familiar with everything. You know how it is, dividing up the drawers and bays with the DW and seeing that we are load balanced front and rear and on both sides. The DW is a weaver/spinner/sock machine knitter. So we have removed the J lounge on the curb side and will install her computer driven 24 harness loom, her spinning wheel and her 1901 vintage sock knitting machine. One of the reasons we moved up to a diesel is so we could carry more weight. LOL She also wants to set up a wireless network for use in the coach. I met her when she sold me my first computer in 1981. Life is always interesting and I have a great selection of socks.
