Hypoxia, yes the touch screen works well. I have two Kenwood systems in the front dash. One is the stereo-Aladdin- and camera display all rolled into one near the driver. The other is the Kenwood LZ-702W touch screen display in the center dash that is connected to just the Garmin KNA-G510 GPS.

Johnboy, I agree. Your GVN-53 is the identical Garmin version of the Kenwood KNA-G510. Have you located it?

I put in several destinations to test it. If it is only a 300 mile destination, it computes very fast. When I put in a 1500 mile plus destination, it takes maybe 30 sec to compute. Garmin also made an FM traffic, weather, and stocks receiver for the 510. Might be hard to find.

Due to a shipping screw-up, I had a second SD card with the 2017 map update, but returned it yesterday.

I'll PM you the source.

Dang you,
you made me go to the storage area to check versions

but I can't get past the 'old maps' screen to check which software version we have... the ok button in the bottom right won't respond to touch nor to the remote...

will give Garmin a shout tmo if adjust ing screen size doesn't help...

I had done the software update some time back. I put the map SD card in and it recognized it immediately. It's nice to have up to date maps although I use a Garmin 760.

The touch screen works for adjusting video settings but doesn't work for the GPS. Any ideas on curing that problem?

That's great. They are actually very nice systems. You can go into the setup and set vehicle type to "Bus",and also set "No U Turn".
