The pre DPF ISX has problems as well. The EGR system is problematic. Lots of truckers with problems. There is an aftermarket fix for the EGR that requires you to remove some parts and clean the interiors. Also camshaft problems with earlier models. Not many truckers use Cummins power . Partially due to some vehicle mfrs. using their own power ( Volvo, Mack).Freightliner does ( or did) offer the ISX but the DD13 and 15 are super engines. I am a Cummins fan but have only had the ISB and a 425 ISL.

Sorry Mr.D., I guess I got my facts turned around.I "thought" that I remembered you saying Cummins paid approx. 50%. (Thats what I get for thinking)

I saw several 2008 Monaco Signatures, Executives, and Holiday Rambler Navigators with 2007 pre-DEF Cummins ISX engines. Most of these said right on the window sticker "2007 model Cummins engine".

All '07 engines are "pre-DEF" as DEF wasn't required until engines built in or after 2010. The 2007 engine would have DPF.

Our ISC 350 with Banks kit was perfect over the 47,000 miles we had it, the ISX in the Magna has blown twice in 45,000 miles.
