I am trying to find the part number for the front suspension air bags without taking anything apart. Does any of you have the part number available or know if it can be found somewhere on the existing bags?

I can find a number of Firestone suspension airbags online but there seem to be many different ones, so I need to locate an exact replacement.

If you have replaced any of these - how difficult is that job to do?

This number W01-358-9551 replaces the OE Monaco part number 01808670 and is available from several truck supply houses.
John Wentz, Captjake1, just replaced his on his sister motorhome, a Beaver Contessa, and did a nice writeup on it.

I have been adopted by Bill (William Willard) and Ruby, and when I asked “can I borrow the car tonight Dad”, he said “what the heck Kid - take the MH out for a spin”.

And so we did.....

They will have it back in mid December

Ben -- We adopted a pair that was already grown to avoid all the pitfalls that younger ones create, but that`s not working out as much as we had hoped -- No telling what happened to our 07 Camelot -- Oh well, we`re stuck with them, so may as well make the most of it -- Bill Willard

Yesterday Bill, Harry Happycarz and I changed the front driverside suspension airbags on Bill’s MH. The rear one of the 2 turned out to have a “nail size” hole in the lower third of the surface. The reason for the damage was not really clear, but the rubber did show signs of deteriorating.

The actual replacement work was easier than expected, because we managed to remove the entire fender around the front wheel. That gave us a lot easier access to nuts, bolts, air connection etc. We stated taking nuts off with normal wrenches, but Harry made easy work of getting them back on with a battery powered angle-wrench.

Taking the fender off took the longest time because the adjecent door was blocking the access to the screws holding the fender in place. I estimate that the actual replacement of the 2 airbags took around 1 1/2 hour once the access was created. Should we do this again, in the same place, I think we could do this in under an hour. The other 3 locations may be different.

We aired up the motorhome to close to max. Then inserted 2 bottle jacks in the appropriate places and then raised the front enough to get the old airbags out. This was enough space to get the new airbags in without compressing these, which Harry otherwise had done by using a vacuum pump.

The old airfittings was cleaned and moved to the new airbags, and that was it. Bottlejacks was lowered carefully and all nuts tightened by hand.

Job done, and in excellent company by 2 MH wizzards

Nice way to spend a Sunday morning.

Henrik,Harry & I did tackle this job, & it went much soother than I ever expected, thanks to Harry`s & Henrick`s problem solving ability -- This is on a 07, 42ft Camelot with air leveling -- Removing the fender created an open working area -- As usual, one screw was a problem removing the fender-- If I was going to replace the rear bags, I would remove the fenders -- The only one that`s not removeable on our Camelot is the front curb side -- The pics are a follow up of the Dane`s (Henrik) post -- Bill Willard
