Our consideration of a Holiday Rambler Ambassador have moved on to a 2009 Monaco Diplomat but right now I do not have one close to look at for my question.

I have a bulky several hundred pound box that measures 25 inches in height and is long enough to require one of the pass-through bays.

Can some one advise the vertical clearance height at its slimmest restrictive point . . . probably inside at the frame rather than the door itself. Not sure here as I am going from memory.

The unit I am looking at is a 2009 model with the sliding drawers. If only one bay goes through -- I think there are two pass-through bays, right? -- and there is not enough clearance with the drawers can they be easily removed?

Know of any weight restriction for the storage bay?

Rockhouse,

I am not at home so can't go out and measure but the slide with have to come out to gain enough height. I have one slide and one open bay. On the street side of the open bay I have a large Sears tool box with drawers that is about 28" high. You don't say how deep into the bay you need to go. The clearence under the frame is (I'm guessing) about 18".

Long enough, at about five feet, to require fitting under the frame, which it sounds like it won't.

I just went out and measured mine. On the back bay that does not have a sliding tray I could get a box 5 feet by 22" by 25" in between the frame and the door. That is with the 5 foot length going front to back and the 22 inches in the height direction to clear the piston that keeps the door open.
