I just looked at the Lazydays web site and noticed that they have a 2011 Diplomat. 4 slides with bath and 1/2. Has 425 Cummins. List $319,500.
Price seems to have gone up over previous Diplomats. I wonder if they are trying to move it up the food chain a bit?
Anyone seen one of these before? Is the 2011 date a mistake by Lazydays?

Note that it is a 42 foot with tag axle. I'm more interested in the other 3 which are listed as dft. Full length slide again??
Supposedly has smoother ride, king bed option, solid wood cabinetry, probably other upgrades as well.

Not a mistake. Last year Lazydays had the 42 foot tag Diplomat and it was shown in the window as a 2010. We took a ride in it. This year they have one built by the new Monaco and it is shown in the window as a 2011. Looks pretty much like the one last year. It rides and handles nice but I think I'll just keep mine for that price. It was not priced that high last year. Maybe they are playing games with the sticker price. You can get a Pheaton Tag that puts the Diplomat floor plan to shame for about $270K MSRP. For the Diplomat price you could most likely deal on an Alegro Bus Tag with the IFS front end and two bathrooms. Sweet ride!

I think Lazydays is trying to get back some of that money that the old Monaco owed them.
On the other hand, I've never been able to work a deal with those folks, on both of my coaches I was able to save between 10k to 25k dollars over Lazydays by just shopping around a little.

I just saw two of these at Beaudry RV in Tucson. I was told that is the largest any Monaco dealer will stock this year, larger and more luxurious model, have to be special ordered. True? I dunno. Nice coach with great features. Fit and finish are far better than past years. Why, I wonder did they introduce a 2011 in the very first month of 2010? That said, $320K is way too high in my opinion.

2011 eh? That makes my 2009 seem that much older, but if they can get 300,000+ for it, then maybe mine won't depreciate so quickly....Hmmmmm

Looks like the new 2011 Diplomat is about 30k above a Phaeton and 30k below a Allegro Bus.
Comparing the Phaeton to the Diplomat- The Dip is a year newer (which has some value down the road) The Dip has a 425ISL vs the Pha 360ISC the Dip also has a Roadmaster 10 bag Chassis whch I feel handles better than the Freightliner in difficult conditions. The Dip also has Full Hardwood cabinets (not just the doors) also you get Energy Management on a Dip I don't think Phaeton offers this. I also think that Monaco's fit and finish, Paint, and ergonomics, are a little better and I like Monaco's Heated Water Compartment which is also more user friendly plus comes with sani-con. I also like the roto cast baggage compartments versus the carpeted ones.
As far as floorplans. The Diplomat and Endeavor have a 42 Front Kitchen and 43 Full Wall Slide these are N.A. on a Phaeton. Monaco is also coming out with a new 40'. The 42PAQ is a bath and a half floorplan similiar to the 42QBH Phaeton. They are very close but I like Monaco's better because of the bigger TV and the fact that the Washer/Dryer is in the back bath away from the living area the Monaco also still has a linen closet as well you lose this on the Phaeton when you get W/D. I think the value is there for the Diplomat I would want to see the bottom line of the two.

You also get a tag axle - big difference! I think the value is there provided the super structure is as good as those built up to the end of '09.

Price increase is probably due to 2010 engine smog requirements (Urea tank).
