Saw the 2012 Diplomat at Hershey PA on Wednesday. Must say that the exterior treatment (front and back) are hideous. But the interior looks REALLY nice. New dash arrangement looks more upscale. Cherry cabinets have a dark-toned application on the raised-panels .... and this makes them look VERY rich. And the new way of mounting the roof A/C's cuts down substantially on the interior noise that my current units create. A nice rig for the money. I give it "best of show".

The exterior is "hideous", but you would give it the "best of show"? Surprising for the Hershey show-must have been no one else there!! Just some thoughts.

Wannabe,
The exterior's "front and back" is what I was describing as hideous. Sorry I don't have a picture to offer. The front cap has chromed chevrons below the windshield which is truly a different look from the average. But on the rear, designers have created chevrons that also provide ventilation....and the result is that it looks like a distorted clown's face is smiling at you. "The joker" comes to mind. Other than that, the coach is drop-dead gorgeous.

The new dash design is courtesy of Navistar's ergonomics department. Notice that you can reach all of switches on the dash, from the driver's seat. Just like in a Navistar truck.

I can reach all the switches on the dash in my 1979 Winnebago, too.

They have improved the air conditioning........now you can't hear the return air. Also the new dash has a Bendix steering column like a SUV. You have to admit that now you will be able to recognize a Monaco from blocks away. deSanford..........it looks like a "white" truck.
