2014 Monaco

Anyone know when Monaco is going to build 2014 models? Are they going to be different because of the recent buy out?

Thanks.

Who owns the Monaco name now?

ORLANDO -- Allied Specialty Vehicles (ASV), the parent company of Fleetwood RV, today announced the purchase of the Monaco, Holiday Rambler and R-Vision recreational vehicle businesses and a collection of iconic brands, including Beaver and Safari (among others) from Navistar.

They also own Fleetwood and make all kinds of specialty vehicles including ambulances and busses.

The intellectual property which includes all the brand names owned and built by the original Monaco Coach Corp and was purchased by Navistar is now owned by Allied Specialty Vehicles (ASV). Their press releases so far plus the statements by Mike Snell who is now President of the Monaco/HR business indicate that they will be building motorhomes by late '13 at the big ASV production campus in Decatur, IN. This is the same facility where Fleetword and American Coach are currently being built.

So it looks like if they are moving production to the Fleetwood factory we may not see a Monaco for a while. I really hope they start putting the Cummins engine back in.

They have a 2014 Monaco Monarch 33SFD on utube walk through. I'm not impressed. Looks like it is a lot cheaper inside. Cheaper lights and faucets inside. Looks like they may have removed the W/D option. They moved things around in the outside hatches. Put the propane tank right next to the generator. What were they thinking? Moved the power cord back to the rear which was good change. Removed the cheap shelf between the seats up front that rattled. I removed mine after first trip. After looking at utube I'm glad I have the 2013 model. Looks like they removed pantry drawer along side the fridge and put in a cheap fridge unless mine has the larger option. It would be interesting to see the options but as it looks I would not have purchased a 2014.

Just looked at their web site. Looks like it is a cheaper fridge with no other option. Also to my surprise they put it on a 20,500 chassis. The 2013 is on a 22,000 chassis.

I think you missed one very important fact. The MSRP on the 14's are about 35 -50 K cheaper. That puts many more part-timers in very nice respectable coaches. Plenty of 13's left for those who want those options, or vice versa.
Our 2014 H R Vacationer 32 wbd is great for us. People are amazed at ours and a few have gone as far as to say this is exactly the coach for them, and in their price range.
