What's the main difference between the two? Is the ride smoother with the 8 bag or ?? Thanks

This site will explain all the Roadmaster Chassis:
http://www.roadmasterchassis.com/chassis/index.html

The R4R is the 4 bag system. The 8 bag system allows the suspension to imitate an independent suspension.

I can give you my own experience since I drove a 4-bag Fleetwood coach on a Freightliner chassis before I bought the Diplomat with 8 bags. The 4 bags on the Freightliner XC chassis were significantly larger than the air bags on the Dip. Ride was much softer on the Freightliner. But the Dip is more stable - less dipping front-to-back and less swaying side-to-side while stopping or going over uneven surfaces or turning corners.

I cannot say that all 4-bag systems have a softer ride. That was just my experience with my specific two coaches. Koni shocks and ride height adjustment helped the ride on the Dip, but still not as soft as the other coach with stock Bilstein shocks and larger air bags.
