Please respond only re: the 400 side radiator...RR10 chassis. Thanks

When I got this coach and it runs; engine 197 trans 205-210 Monaco says ok, Allison says ok. Like that for three years. This trip west it starts runnning 180 or so eng and 195 trans. I know how the cooling fan is supposed to work, not sure now if it never ran, or is always running now. temps about the same hills or flats.

Comments on your temps for comparison appreciated.

Thanks

I have an 09 Scepter 425 ISL side rad.
Engine temp. 195 to 201
Trans Temp 195 to 205
This is on the flat I assume the fluctuation is due to fan cycling on and off.

Funny, my engine always runs a little hotter than the tranny. According to the Aladdin, engine 195-200, transmission 190-195. On long uphill pulls engine goes up a bit.

That's about where our '06 ISL runs. Rises a little pulling a long grade. I clean the radiator twice a year to keep it clean. Once with a degreaser, and once with just water and maybe a little dawn dish washing detergent.

Sounds like you are ok with the temps you posted.

Mine did that too, it seemed to coincide with a small (1mpg) increase in overall mileage. Possibly the engine brealing in is the cause. I seem to recall the mileage was around 40k when it did it.
I've never seen over 200 in the engine but the tranny went to 220 on a long uphill on I 40 east from Kjngman in the summer once.

Sounds like the higher temps were in fact "normal" and that my fan controller is on the fritz. Intermittent...mostly cool on this trip, sitting in CO Springs waiting for a little better wx to head north to Yellowstone and it's too cold to tell much with temps now.

Thanks for the responses.
