50 amp shore power adapter
I just purchased a 2000 Monaco Dynasty. I am looking for an adapter to plug my 50 amp into a standard 110/volt wall socket. there are a lot of adapters but i am not finding a female 50 amp to male 110 to plug into house/shop socket..
just want to plug in a socket in the shop to maintain batteries. Not trying to run AC units or fridge just interior lights for working in the coach. found some 30 amp at walmart but they are reverse and have male 30 and a female 110 house type not sure how that would help....
any help appreciated. Sure do like my Monaco just drove it for the first time today!

I plug in a 50 > 30 amp dogleg, then a 30 > 15 amp adaptor. This give me flexibility to plug in to a 50, 30, or 15 amp outlet.

My concern with a direct 50 amp to 15 amp adapter is the weight of the 50 amp cord potentially pulling on the 15 amp outlet.

If you have reduced the plug to a 15/20 amp size, any good extension cord can be used to plug into the outlet. I wouldn't use a 100' one, but a 3 wire 6' to 15' one would work just fine.

Two comments: First even a TT-30 outlet is 120 volt. We need to stop calling House Outlets 120 because they are either 15 or 15/20 amp..
People call the standard wall outlet _120 volt tend to forget that the 30 amp TT-30 is also 120 volt and bad things happen.
That said
Other have covered how to do it,, I will add this. If you use a 15 amp Extension cord more than a few feeng, Consider a 12 ga cord. Sears and K-mart sell a nice one with a push button on the outlet that grips the prongs of whatever you plug into it.. but any good 12 ga cord will do.. I have a 100' and some shorter ones I carry... Do not often use 'em, but nice to have.

Rusty, easy fix. Go to Amazon and search "rv 50 amp to 15 amp". And you will see several adapters that will do exactly what you want. I use mine anytime I'm plugged into my Honda 2K or to a 15 amp circuit all summer at the campground. Love this simple adapter.

The type like above, tend to get hot and deform, creating a poor connection. The cheap one isn't always the way to go.
You should always try use the dogbone type with a bit of cord between the ends.

I got something similar to this because I did not like having my big 50 amp cord out at the storage lot where it may walk away. Only problem with the one I got did not twist on quite right, still works ok for me.
