50 amps not coming in only 30
Help- 2003 Monoco Windsor- when I plug in my 50amps plug to a pedestal , no power, dog leg same plug to a 30 amp plug on the same pedestal I get 30 amps into the coach. I have replaced the transfer switch with new, I cannot figure out if its in my EMS system or if there is a fuse somewhere blown and where it would be. My inverter works
Perfect 12v to 120v.
Help help help we are on the road and 1000 miles from home and it hard to manage with just one a/c work in this heat

Have you verified with a meter the pedustal is ok? If yes, have you followed both legs present to the main panel?

No power at all or the EMS indicates 30 amps ?
The EMS needs to sense 240 volts ( both legs of 50 amps ) to indicate 50 amp service. The sense wires are hooked to breakers in the panel. Turn them all on and see what happens.
Second thing. The auto transfer switch needs to sense one leg of 50 amp power to transfer. If that one leg is down at the pedestal, it won't transfer. Check for 240 volts at the pedestal. Right slot to left slot.

when plugged into the 50 amp receptacle what does your EMS show as the status? is it showing power on both legs? is it showing an error condition? it will only pass power for a properly wired pedestal with voltages within the specs. if it does not pass power it will display an error condition.
trip and reset the 50 amp breaker.
stop all the fuss about fuses and inverters. they have nothing to do with this. you have shown that if you get power to your shore cable (via 30 amp adapter) things work. your problem is getting the 50 amp power into the shore cable.
verify the 50 amp pedestal receptacle with a meter.

50 amps are at every pedestal we plug into-have verified 240 into the cable to the box, flipped switched and changed the transfer switch- when on Gen power we get 50 amps to the ems and everything works fine

Charlie ,
Is this the same problem for which you changed the transfer switch ?
Did anything change when you changed the trans sw ?

Is this your system? Have you reset the main breakers in your coaches panel?

Bigchick— after reading your post, I traced the problem back into the junction box where I found 2 out of 4 wire nuts were corroded and oxidized, after cleaning and spraying with CRC battery cleaner and respraying with corrosion protection and new wire nuts, problem solved, and correct 50 amps showing and working on EMS system. A $.050 fix cost me 200.00 but now have spare transfer switch- Thks for all the input and help from all

Charlie , Wow that makes one feel so good to trace the problem and repair.
Thank you for letting us know .
I have an 03 Windsor also and would like to look into the same junction box
If you can tell me where your box is located I would very much appreciate it .
Thanks again
Ray
