'95 Dynasty, what belt is this?
greetings,
~ six weeks ago i bought a '95 monaco dynasty with a cummins 8.3c. i'm now beginning to rinse through the various components / systems and see this belt has ~ 1" of play in the bottom as it sits.
i've contacted cummins quickserve and they say it's aftermarket and to contact monaco. i'll do that, but in the meantime i'm wondering if you could tell me what belt this is so i can begin understanding / properly refreshing it and related areas.
thx in advance for any / all constructive feedback.

Hi Radacravitz; Have you looked to see if any hydraulic lines are coming from the unit being driven by the crankshaft. I think some of the older Cummins did not have the hydraulic pump being driven directly off the engine and used a belt to drive the pump. Just a guess! I am sure you will hear from some one who owns a coach of your year. Good luck!

hi and thanks for the reply, much appreciated.
No I haven't yet but I intend to do that as soon as possible.
I do hope to hear from someone who is familiar with that particular year/model or another implementation on their different model coach.
Thanks again for your comments.

That's your hydraulic pump belt and it is supposed to be loose like that. Good idea to get a spare as they are not carried just every where. We had a twin to your coach and learned the hard way when the belt broke, stranded us for overnight getting one shipped to where we were.

That belt is a Goodyear industrial belt used on augers to move grain/ corn into a silo. I used to have the same year Monaco as you and mine sheared all the cogs off the belt. No auto/rv shop will have this and I finally found the right person at Goodyear who gave me the part number for it. Good luck with this.

woo hoo!
turns out the previous, long-time owner had a spare of this belt tucked into the maintenance bay :-)
a good thing since a new belt is $230+.

How does that song go " sometimes you're the windshield, sometimes you're the bug. "
Good to be the windshield once in a while .
Safe travels.
