Hello All,
We have a 96 Dynasty and it occured to me that I need to change out the desiccant filter, but I don't have a part number. Can anyone offer that information? - Tom

You probably have a "Midland pure air plus" air drier. To service it you need a kit that contains the desiccant filter plus coalescing filter and other service items under part number DQ6026 that costs over $100. This is an old design with a 18 month service interval that is not used on newer trucks and MHs. The Bendix Style AD 9 Air Dryer 065225 109685X KIT can replace the entire unit and be cheaper in the long run as the filters are changed at a longer interval and are much less expensive. Replacement involves mounting bracket change and heater wire splice.

If you are talking about replacing the Haladex dryer unit because the price of the Desiccant & Coalescing filter kit ($130+) Yes I did the replacement it on our 99 Dip and 2000 Dyn, I replaced it with a Meritor Wabco pt# R955205 for about $60 more than the filter kit for the Haladex and the Desiccant filter kit for the Meritor Wabco part# R950011 is generally available on E bay for less than $40. You will have to modify the dryer bracket to attach the Meritor Wabco.
As for bleeding the air down on the coach I think it is a good idea but if your unloader is working there will not be any pressure in the Desiccant filter. __________________
